What are the most common questions people ask about The Good Samaritan Mobile Soup Kitchen?
What makes The Good Samaritan Mobile Soup Kitchen different from other food providers in Chicago? What's special about your service?
We are committed to providing meals to those in need without any cost or commitment from them. We travel on wheels so can go to many different neighborhoods all over the city. We are eager to join forces and work together with other like minded organizations. We can partner up at events and make a bigger impact on the success of feeding community members in need.
How does The Good Samaritan Mobile Soup Kitchen stay in operation. Where does the money come from?
We get some very much appreciated support and monetary donations from our friends, family and neighbors and a few church and community organizations. Our mission is blessed to have their support. The next answer is just the honest truth. MrB (Bryon Woodward) contributes a substantial amount of his own money on a weekly basis. He's no Daddy Warbucks. He's just your average retired family man who worked real hard all his life now living on a fixed income. Unfortunately, him and the GSM Soup Kitchen team are gonna have to come up some ideas on how fund this mission. We have one in the works: Soap for Soups. Don't laugh...we're serious. We'll be selling some fancy handcrafted soaps to help keep this mission going. Stay tuned we'll keep you posted.
What are some potential concerns or hesitations people might have about getting food from a mobile soup kitchen, and how can we address them?
A primary concern is health and food safety. We address this by adhering to strict food safety standards and regulations. Our food is prepared in a clean and controlled environment to ensure it is safe for consumption. We make sure the ingredients are fresh and clean.
If people only read one or two questions and answers, what are the most important things they should know?
There are so many families with children, homeless people, and elderly people that need our help in getting free food and meals. They need our support. The most important thing to know is that we are the comfort and hope of many. We're here to provide not just food, but also a sense of community and support.
